Chaseton’s Story

This is the story of Chaseton born on September 23rd  with a rather severe heart condition called Transposition of the Great arteries. (TGA) He also has a perforation in his ventricular septum (VSD). Last, but by no means least, he has a Pulmonary stenosis. So you ask what does this all mean? To break it down in to its most simple form it means we have ourselves one very sick baby.
If you would like to get more technical:
TGA is when the pulmonary artery and the aorta artery have swapped places causing a disruption in the proper flow of blood throughout the body.
VSD is a hole in the membrane or wall between the 2 lower or pumping chambers of the heart. The ventricles.
Pulmonary stenosis is the narrowing or partial blockage of the pulmonary artery.
How this all comes together, I will explain later.
For now this blog will serve as a pathway for me to vent my fear, anger frustration and any other emotions that choose to show themselves.
Who am I you ask.
I am the very proud father of Chaston’s mother and one of two lucky grandfathers of Chaston himself.

At first I will share my FB posting during the start of this story. Later I will detail exactly what is wrong with Chaston and what we hope will come from his treatment.
At a future time, if she is willing, I may turn this blog over to Chaseton’s mother who I hope would use it to chronicle his development.
